Red Neck Fire Alarm - FHA Approved?

I'm sure that you have all had an appraiser tell you that your client needs additional fire alarms installed prior to signing off on the appraisal. I know this is especially true with Reverse Mortgages.

While this alarm probably won't get by too many underwriters in the conforming or govt. lenders, I do know a few Hard Money guys who would let it slide and a few years ago a few sub-prime lenders would have given a discount for it.

Best of all, it needs no batteries, doubles as an emergency food supply and can be bought at your favorite Red Neck stores, Wal-Mart, K-Mart and 7 Eleven.

I had no idea "Rednecks" were so clever. It reminds me of something "McGuyver" might do.

Funny Picture.

What a great idea! How about sponges under the house to check for water. I once sold a house where the home inspector pointed a hose against the side of the house and water came in from the wall.  It turned out that the room was not permitted!

This is funny.  It would make a great "wordless wednesday" too.  Looks like someone needs some home staging tips!

Agreed. I wonder what they do for Carbon Monoxide... a parakeet?

Hey Larry, quit picking on those poor parakeets.  A lot of them gave their lives for our miners.  Meany!  :)  :)

I think the FHA should at least give it a considertion!

Erby - I hold parakeets in the highest regard. Their sacrifice has helped make this country great. It's a shame that they are held against their will in countless pet stores in America.

William - Congress should form a committee and look at this obvious cost saving AND green solution. But in these tough economic times I'm afraid that they wouldn't last long as alarms...

Maybe a trained talking parrot that could also double as an alarm system would work...

Larry

Now that really is funny and ingenious too!  Goes great with the rest of the RN decor in that home.
